Korba (Naiduniya News). Karma Mahotsav was organized at the premises of Morga Mission School in Podi Uporada Block. MP Mohitram Kerketta attended the occasion as the chief guest. The MLA danced fiercely with the villagers and dancers to temple rhythms and Karma chants. The dance group members revived the Karma dance culture and tradition by dancing in attractive costumes.
The famous Karma festival of the tribal community was celebrated with great fanfare in Morga village of Podi Uporda block on Saturday. The main guest of the program, Pali Tanakhar MLA Mohitram Kerketta also danced fiercely and performed Mandar at the Karma festival. Hundreds of men and women performed the Karma dance together and made the festival memorable. The main guest, MLA Kerketta, said at the festival that the language, dialect, art, culture, tradition of any society is its true identity. Each company must always maintain its identity. Like every year, this time too Karma Mahotsav was organized under the joint auspices of the premises of Morga Nehru Memorial Upper Secondary School. On the program, women and girls from different villages performed a colorful Karma dance with temple rhythms and got married during the festival. In the program, each group had 10 to 10 minutes to dance.
During this period, the dance group gave their performances. Korba Kosabari, Pandraama, Morga Mahila Yuva Sangh, Dhajak, Khariti, Madanpur, Puta were present. Considering the costumes, dance and skills of the dance groups, the selection committee gave them marks. Kosabari Korba was declared the first winner and Morga in second position, Morga Mahila Yuva Sangha won the third position. Winners were honored with side prizes by guests. Mr. LA Kerketta, the main guest of the program said that things which are not possible by study of books can be easily known from such events. The culture and tradition of any society are recognized by such events. He said the Oraon Tribal Society is to be commended, which hold such events every year in an effort to preserve their customs. Due to this unity and harmony is also maintained in society. Even after facing problems under adverse circumstances, this society is committed to preserving its culture and heritage of ancestors and is also succeeding. He congratulated all members of the dance group involved in Karma Mahotsav for their best performance.
Application for college and substation
During Karma Mahotsav, MP Morga Sarpanch Sunil Kumar in his speech requested a college and substation from MP Mohitram Kerketta in the area. He said children from the region have to go to Katghora or Ambikapur for higher education. The majority of poor people reside in rural areas, these children cannot study outside. With the opening of the college of Morga, the poor children of their higher education here will no longer have to go out. He said that due to being a forest area, the electricity problem remains the biggest here. With the creation of a substation in this area, people suffering from the problem of electricity here will get rid of the problem of getting the right electricity. He said the country will only progress when children study. He urged the MP that if this problem is solved, the development of the region will further increase.
