The 2nd Annual Awards are the society’s humble attempt to recognize outstanding contributions that have influenced positive change in the textile engineering industry. India ITME Society Awards 2022 is scheduled to be presented on 10th December 2022 at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. These awards will set the tone for the largest textile engineering show with international and national delegates representing ambassadors, board members, various government departments, textile and state commissioners and global investors in attendance. The winners will be awarded with a cash prize, a trophy and a certificate in their categories. This 2nd edition aims to deliver awards in exciting new categories. All entries were reviewed for eligibility by Suvin – the technical coordinator of the event, and then presented to the judging panel. The true innovation of the Indian brand in the product portfolio and a detailed quality control policy introduced by Lakshmi Machine Works impressed the members of the jury. In the Weaving & Preparation segment, Rabatex Industries is rewarded for its weaving preparation machines. In the Finishing segment, Texfab Engineers (India) Pvt. ltd. received the award for fabric finishing machines and fabric dyeing machines. In the printing segment, ColorJet India Ltd. emerged as a winner for an innovative concept developed in India that is now gaining a lot of prominence globally. The technology being nominated was a size recovery and reuse system from desizing wash liquor, a caustic purification system after mercerizing wash liquor, and indigo dye recovery and reuse. Special award for women These women have made their mark and are an inspiration to others. The jury and India ITME Society awarded the following special women: • Female Entrepreneur – Ms.Deepa A Kumar Ms.Deepa is the Founder and CEO of Yashram Lifestyle Brands. Its products like period panties, leak-proof nursing bras for nursing mothers, maternity hygiene panties and more are designed to solve the pressing problems of women today. Mrs. Neha 3rd generation in the business, Neha started with one goal – to grow the company from a successful 3-decade family business to an Indian multinational. • Female Master Weaver – Mrs. Santoshi Kewat Mrs. Santoshi may not have been a director of multi-INR corporations but has managed to thrive with her leadership qualities. Being only 8th std pass academically today, she managed to become a certified master weaver. • Restoration of Traditional Skills – Mrs. Kumari Raita Mrs. Kumari Raita was not privileged by society economically or educationally, but today she is helping to revive traditional textiles and inspire women to become self-reliant.
